Service Description

Nature is the perfect place to learn through play! Our Outdoor Play & Exploration Group is a therapist-led program designed for children ages 3–6 to build confidence, coordination, social skills, and sensory awareness through hands-on outdoor experiences. Led by an experienced Occupational Therapist from Functional Kids Pediatric Therapy, each weekly session features a new nature-inspired theme that encourages children to explore, move, create, and connect with the world around them. From scavenger hunts and obstacle courses to outdoor games and creative nature art, every class is thoughtfully designed to support healthy development while having fun outside. Parents are encouraged to attend and participate as children discover new ways to learn, problem-solve, and build confidence through purposeful outdoor play. Weekly Themes Nature Scavenger Hunt & Exploration – Discover the sights, sounds, and textures of nature through guided exploration. Moving Through Nature – Build coordination, balance, and teamwork with nature-inspired obstacle courses and movement challenges. Outdoor Games & Play Adventures – Enjoy classic outdoor games that encourage creativity, cooperation, and active play. Creative Nature Play – Use natural materials to create art, build, imagine, and explore. Program Details Ages: 3–6 years Location: Tut Hill Park, Sioux Falls Dates: Wednesdays – July 29, August 5, August 12 & August 19 Time: 9:00–10:30 AM Cost: $25 per class or $90 for all four sessions Join us as we turn the outdoors into our classroom, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and lifelong skills through meaningful play in nature.
